Profile: Ekow Quandzie

Ekow Quandzie is a Brand & Communications Executive with over a decade of professional experience in communications, media, and journalism.

As a people-centered team lead with a passion for growth, my chosen career in Public Relations and strategy is driven by my quest to be innovative, and creative and offer solutions using insights, data, and technology.

I’m currently the Assistant Head of Public Relations at Global Media Alliance overseeing the department’s thought leadership, and professional growth, managing key PR Accounts, and developing PR strategies.

Over the years, I have provided campaign-driven PR and marketing strategies for leading brands such as Absa Bank (formerly Barclays Bank), Samsung, Whoopro, UNDP, World Economic Forum, Diageo, Kasapreko, Awake Purified Drinking Water, Alomo Bitters, AfriWave Telecoms and other specific projects.

I’m also a Media Consultant for a number of entertainment events in Ghana including African Legends Night, Music Magic and Comedy Live and YFM Clash of the DJs where I provide communications strategies and media publicity for these events.

I am the Lead Curator for World Public Relations Day Festival (WPRD) in Ghana which is championed by Global Media Alliance to further elevate the PR profession in Ghana.

I previously worked as a Senior Journalist at Ghana Business News, the leading online business news portal in Ghana, with four years of full experience. My journalistic works focused on business, economic and financial development, new media, technology, startups, energy, and social development. My work has taken me to several countries including the United States, Morocco, Tunisia, and Ivory Coast among others to cover major global events organized by reputable organizations such as the African Development Bank, The World Bank, The UN Economic Commission for Africa, The US Government and many others.

I am also passionate and involved in community service work. As a member of the Rotaract Club, part of Rotary International, I have helped developed communication strategies for service projects.

My long-term goals are to gain global experience, become an industry thought leader, and, most importantly, establish the first non-profit PR agency in Ghana to support startups, creative arts, and the green economy. Setting up this company is an extension of my volunteering work, supporting small businesses with my communications expertise to give these businesses market awareness.
